The essentials
for getting back to basics
Passing on knowledge and training future hip-hop dancers is central to the company’s objectives and mission. The experience gained over recent years has turned the company’s members into true educators, sought after as much for their knowledge as for their techniques. Since its inception, the company has been training and supporting young dancers in the demanding art of breakdancing, helping them make the transition to the professional stage and supporting their desire to create their own choreography. Twenty-five years after the creation of Pockemon Crew, the sixth generation of dancers is emerging from within the collective and joining our shows.
Our courses
01.Cultural action modules
Since creating his first show for young audiences, De la rue aux Jeux (From the Street to the Games), Riyad Fghani, accompanied by two dancers, has developed a cultural action module to accompany his shows:– A one-hour presentation and discussion on breakdancing, its history and values, as well as the history of the company. This discussion also provides an opportunity to deepen knowledge of the discipline, while exploring the themes addressed in the show. In De la rue aux Jeux, the themes addressed are the discipline required to practice a sport at a high level, the healthy lifestyle of an athlete, and breakdancing as an Olympic discipline. In #Hashtag Déclic, created in 2025, the discussion focuses more on our relationship with screens and social media, as well as our relationship with our bodies in a digitalized environment. – one hour introductory breakdancing workshop with two performers.
02.Internships and workshops
Regularly sought after by local authorities and associations, the company regularly organizes introductory and advanced breakdancing courses and workshops. Held alongside performances, or independently of them, these opportunities for interaction between performers are open to all and adapted to each individual’s level. They are tailor-made to offer personalized support and meet specific needs.

The transmission of knowledge within the company is not limited to the practice of dance. The body is put to the test during the life of a hip-hop dancer. Career change occurs earlier than in other professions, due to the exhaustion of the main working tool: the body.

For several years now, Riyad has been supporting the company’s dancers in their professional transition, their life after dancing, when the desire to continue evolving in the field is still there. As a result, an increasingly important place is being given within the company to dancers at the end of their careers who wish to try their hand at artistic writing and choreographic composition, taking the form of a real partnership between Riyad, an established choreographer, and the choreographers in the making. The latter can thus benefit from the company as a tool for writing, experimenting, and creating: its premises, the experience and advice of its production and administration teams, its visibility, its professional network, and, of course, its financial resources.
Millésime (2019) and Nineteen (2021) are the company’s first pieces to emerge from this personalized support, created by emerging dancers/choreographers from the Crew, which testify to the artistic vitality of the company’s members.
This dynamic continues today, with new projects being considered for 2025 and 2026, in collaboration with international organizations in particular, and initiated and led by the company’s dancers.
