« Through cinematic staging, the Pockemon Crew showcases the history of breakdancing […] in a fast-paced narrative. » – Sceneweb (july2023)

With 25 years of passion and creativity, from the streets to the stage, the Pockemon Crew retraces the vibrant history of hip-hop through a captivating performance. Since its emergence on the streets of New York in the 1970s, this cultural and artistic movement has left a lasting impact and transcended generations.

History of breakdance celebrates this epic journey, where styles intersect, dances evolve, and fundamental values—respect, perseverance, self-improvement and openness—resonate as a universal message.

Based on the incredible journey of the Pockemon Crew—the world’s most awarded breakdance company—Riyad Fghani traces the path of an entire discipline, forged in and by the streets. The company has always sought to combine creativity and competition, even though it was long forced to choose between the two in order for recognition. Naturally, It defies these conventions,
sharing for over twenty-five years a unique style grounded on great technical skill and driven by the energy and values of battles.

The show is the result of the fusion between the company’s own history and the broader history of breakdancing, which has made its way into the most prestigious theaters and the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
